National ID Card
There seems to be a lot of concern about a National Identification Card.
I wonder why?
I have heard discussions that it will take away our privacy and our freedom. That it is the final step toward 666, the Mark of the Beast.
Consider where we are today. You must use your Social Security Number every time you are involved in some major financial transaction. Your Social Security Number is required for Medicare.
Try to cash a check without showing your Driver’s License Number.
Every member of the Armed Forces has a Number.
Our Passports have their number also that you must use on forms entering or leaving the country.
We already have a number for almost everything now, why not a uniform identification system that proves our entitlement to benefits, our privilege to drive, to make financial transactions and our right to vote.
It is logical to have one identification number rather than a half dozen.
That card would prove that we are United States Citizens and not someone who had crossed our borders illegally for whatever purpose that they might hope to achieve.
Why not?

John:
Mark of the Beast!
1.They are not even sure that 666 is the correct number. Recent speculation in translation has given it a totally different number.
2.There has been really wild speculation that someone who is already here, has that number.
3.Frankly, L. Ron Hubbard could have written a better fiction story.
4.It’s function in religion is, as always, to scare’em, scare’em scare’em
5.It’s all such total nonsense.
What the national ID card is, is change, and, “Oh my God, we can’t have that”! Well, Tilly grab your bloomers; change happens. It’s going on all the time. Suck it up and get on with your life.
Hello John,
once the data is collected and stored, they think of new possibilities how to use them. As a civil person it is important to be vigilant.
So much harm can result from stored data.
I read Edwin Black book, ‘IBM and the Holocaust’ and realized what a wonderful tool computing devices are for the prosecution of innocents.
I’ll be back
Rainer,
Thank you for your comment and I will plan to read the book that you referenced.
I knew that this would be a very controversial topic.
From a utopian viewpoint a national identity card would be a very beneficial and practical thing to do.
But I agree, we do not live in an ideal world. There are people and governments that would be able to track our actions more effectively.
An even more controversial topic is one that I am writing regarding DNA sampling.
Stay tuned for more excitement!
I would like to thank you for the great article. It is good to read such interesting article, thanks for sharing it.
Have a nice day and continue working in the same way!
Why stop with a National ID card? Why not an International ID card? It shouldn’t be that big a task for the United Nations to register every man, woman, child on Earth. Sure, why not? May Gawk help us!
